- 2001 CEIRP Fellow Statement My
current research interests have developed from working with Dr. Barbara Bedford's
wetland ecology group in the Department of Natural Resources at Cornell University.
I have worked with several other undergraduates as well as graduate students on
a project funded by The Nature Conservancy. The project's goal is to develop a
hydrogeologic classification of a type of wetlands known as rich fens throughout
New York State. One part of the project on which I have been working deals with
the manner in which these wetland ecosystems respond to nutrient enrichment. Possible
Senior Honors Thesis work may focus on changes in the canopy architecture of the
plant community of rich fens due to nutrient enrichment. |
