Lead
Contamination and Remediation in Soil
Anna
Jensen
2001 - 2002 Fellow
The
project asked the classes to act as consulting engineers
to help a smelting company decide how to handle lead contamination
on their property. A presentation from the smelting company
along with a memo outlining the conditions on the site started
the project off.
Contaminated
soil was provided by the company. To complete this project
the students performed background research, developed experiments,
collected and analyzed data and finally decided on a best
course of action for the company. Their final products were
a formal report and a presentation to the smelting company.
