HOW TO MAKE ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS ON THE SCREEN

In most cases, the size of the photograph on your computer will be different the size of the actual bird. To correct for this, there is a ruler in each photograph. The procedure of correcting your scrren measurements is straightforward. Simply follow the steps below.

 

Step #1: Measure the length of the bill on the screen using your real ruler. In this example, the length measurement is 1.9cm.

1.9 cm real ruler = 1.5 cm on the real ruler.

Step #2: Place your real ruler on the photo ruler. Because the photo on the computer might be larger/smaller than the actual bird, convert your real measurement to the distance on the photo ruler. Use this value as the true measurement
